In the scene, Harry Dunne (Daniels) is readying himself for a date with Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly). The problem is, Dunne's friend Lloyd Christmas (Carrey) is also in love with Swanson, and has grown jealous of Dunne upon learning that Mary has agreed to a date with him. Never one to take things sitting down (no pun intended), Christmas decides to take matters into his own hands, and ensure that Harry's date is ruined.

Lloyd empties an entire bottle of "Turbolax" (a flavored, liquid instant-laxative) into a teacup, and offers his friend a toast in honor of his big date tonight. Believing he was drinking tea, Harry drinks the entire cup, setting the stage for the most ill-timed bout of explosive diarrhea conceivable short of a battlefield.

When Harry arrives at Mary's home to pick her up for the date, he cannot help but notice an obnoxious growl emnating from his intestines. As his ladyfried is getting ready (as if she hadn't already had ample time to do her hair and makeup), Harry finally breaks down and heads for the vacant lavatory, where he dropped the fecal eqivalent of a liquid H-bomb - complete with a symphony of farts and the force of a charging rhinoceros.

As he sits stunned and bemused on the commode following his explosive battle with laxative-induced diarrhea, Harry opens the window and desperately tries to clear out the foul odor that filled the room.

Mary knocks on the door of the bathroom and asks if he is inside. Harry, in shock and unsure of what to say, replies in an awkward manner that he will "be right out", at which point she breaks to him the bad news.

"I hope you're not using the toilet!", says Mary in a definitive tone.

"No, I was just --- shaving", Harry says, lying and ashamed at what he'd done.

"That's good", responds Mary, "because it doesn't flush!" Oh shit!
